The phrase God has knit into my Spirit over the past few months is simple and yet more profound than anything I can really understand.
God is faithful.
The provisions of God are so profound and intricate, we often miss just how intentional God is about providing for us. Food, shelter and income are generally the ways in which we identify God providing for us in our lives. But, sisters, there is more to what God does and who God is.
This Bible study is called “God Is Faithful” and I hope that over the next few weeks we grow as a community and as individual women. I’ll incorporate some challenges to push you to think about how God has been faithful to you. There is NO woman whose life hasn’t been touched by the goodness and faithfulness of God. Our task in this Bible study series is to see just how faithful God has been to us so we can give Him praise! I have met some women who are dissatisfied with their life and had begun questioning God. It’s a road I have traveled as well so I pray my experiences and the Holy Word of God can help someone see the silver lining. Life isn’t perfect, but God and everything He touches is. The intention of this study is to lead us away from dissatisfaction and into thankfulness! God has done a lot of you — small things and great things alike.
God is faithful, through whom were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. – 1 Corinthians 1:9
When we read through the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) we have an opportunity to see all of the miraculous ways Jesus changed the lives of ordinary like you and I. If I had to narrow down a few things about christianity that appeals to me deeply I’d absolutely have MIRACLES high on the list. I know, very well, how limited my strength and power is. I am so thankful that Jesus had the power of God on Earth that brought forth miraculous works in the lives of imperfect, needy people like me. To that end, I believe that it is through the power of Jesus to bring miracles that allows us to see the faithfulness of God clearly.
Before we dive into any scriptures in the next coming weeks, my first challenge is this:
Identify 5 ways God was faithful to you last year. After you’ve identified ways God has been faithful, spend time in prayer thanking God for what He has done for you and ask Him to show you all of ways He’s going to be faithful to you in 2016. God said when we seek Him we will find Him so let’s seek Him and find Him everywhere!
I’m excited for all of the beautiful ways God will display His faithfulness to you in 2016! This is truly just the beginning! Be well, be blessed. You are a woman to be praised!
