“and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20
always…
I love that Jesus promises to be with us, always. Sometimes, people leave our lives too soon. We don’t get enough time to love them and cherish them. We’re left with photographs and voicemails, text messages and letters, but what we really long for is them. We wish for their total presence in our lives.
Jesus’ promise to never leave us the exact reflection of God’s faithfulness. Jesus’ will always be with us. Seasons can change, generations can come and go, we can move from state to state, but Jesus will never leave us. Why? …simple.
God is faithful to all of His promised and He promised us Jesus and Jesus promised to never leave.
In the 105th chapter of Psalm, the Bible declares all of the wonderful acts of God towards His chosen people. I particularly love verses 8 through 10:
He has remembered His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac.
Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
How long has God remembered His own promises? FOREVER. What a joy to serve a God who never forgets what He has said and who never goes back on His word. When God speaks the world has to make room for words to become a reality. This, sisters, is why God is faithful. He cannot lie. He literally cannot be anything but faithful to us.
I pray this study reminds you of everything God is and that is faithful, always and forever. Whatever you are going through, God is near. Jesus has promised to never leave us and God has promised to remember you.
