“To all the ladies in the place with with style and grace…”
Happy International Women’s Day to all the women, teens, and girls who have touched this platform! When God fashioned Eve, the mother of all living, He used added attention to detail with His hands. She was the crown of creation, and generations upon generations later, we are too.
If I had one wish for the day, women would begin to stand in strong communities with one another and resist the societal norms that pit us against each other. I would hope that women would see one another as allies and friends instead of competition. I long for a world where women are not overcome by their insecurities but stand in the power of their strengths.
The theme for International Women’s Day this year is #BreaktheBias. Women everywhere continue to dismantle systemic barriers that limit women’s social, financial, spiritual, and professional upward mobility. We are all responsible for this work. When one of us are held back because of implicit bias, we are all held back. This year, the significance of womanhood feels weightier because not only have I experienced new elements of femininity through pregnancy, but I’ve found new inspiration knowing my child is a girl. I cannot express the joy and the excitement God is growing in my heart. Only He knows the deep love I have for other women to bring another woman into this world is an indescribable gift. I wish to bring her into a world I’ve carefully curated with people who believe in the power and beauty of womanhood, specifically godly womanhood. I am determined to cultivate relationships that propel her into the life of her dreams, and I am committed to living an exemplary, authentic life of confidence, excellence, and grace.
What are your hopes for women on International Women’s Day? What are your hopes for yourself?
