I have no idea what forever looks like…I have no idea what forever feels like. My whole life is dictated by time. Each person on Earth gets the same 24 hours a day and we navigate between these hours to optimize productivity. So, if we stripped time away I’m not really sure how any of us would live.
Thankfully, God’s got that figured out. He knows exactly what it’s like to live outside of time because He does it every moment of His existence. In Genesis, God created time by creating the sun and the moon, therefore, He is outside of time and can use it any way He’d like.
The gift of eternity may seem difficult to grasp now, but the relevance of this precious gift does not lessen because we can hardly fathom it. Eternity with God is the greatest gift of all. Every gift given to us is a stone among other stones that pave the road to eternity with God.
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. – Ecclesiastes 3:11
The deepest crevices of our souls is a longing for eternity amidst the presence of God. God placed eternity in our hearts and we’ll spend our whole lives journeying back to Him to fulfilling the longing of being home.
I am so thankful you took the time to journey through the 12 days of Christmas with me!! It’s been a blessing. Each gift we’ve studied so far has led to this day, this moment.
In the book of John chapter 6, “Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.”
Thousands of years of ago, Peter knew what we know and believe today: Jesus’ words are for eternal life. We couldn’t have ended this Bible study on a higher note. The culmination of the gifts God gives us through Jesus is eternal life. I pray this is something that excites you and makes me you want to dig deeper into His Word to find glimpses of eternity from the very beginning.
May you have a very Merry CHRISTmas and may the gifts of God be on the forefront of your mind.
